FIRE ALARM AND EVACUATION ALARM SYSTEM MANAGER

The purpose of a fire alarm and evacuation alarm system is to discover, locate and raise the alarm about a fire at an early stage so that it can be combated in time.

The purpose of a fire alarm and evacuation alarm system is to discover, locate and raise the alarm about a fire at an early stage so that it can be combated in time and measures taken to ensure the safety of people, animals, inventory, building and the environment, so avoiding/minimising injuries and/or damage.

The manager is responsible for the operation, periodic checks and preventive maintenance of the fire alarm system, as required by the Building Decree and described in the standard NEN 2654.
In addition, he or she is the first point of contact for the fire service and insurance adjuster and is in contact with the firm that maintains the system.

This training is only offered on request.

Requirements

The authorities set ever stricter requirements for the management and maintenance of fire alarm systems. Rules for management and maintenance are laid down in the 2012 Buildings Degree, which references the NEN2535 and NEN 2654 standards. These standards require a Fire Alarm Systems Manager who is responsible for the management, checks and maintenance.

Compliance with the criteria for Manager can be demonstrated with the diploma from the Netherlands Emergency Response Institute (NIBHV). This diploma can be achieved by completing a two day course which Saval gives as part of the Fire Alarm Systems Manager training and awards on behalf of the NIBHV to the course participants who meet the specified criteria.
